11 March 2009 - Thoughts, Feelings, Ideas!!!

Felt an insupressable urge to blog today after so many things happened in the last 24 hours since I posted my last entry and here goes:

Liverpool won - and they won BIG!
Liverpool - if you still do not know, the team that I support - had just beaten Real Madrid 4-0 (Agg 5-0). This is considered to be something unthinkable before the game kick-off.

Podcast
Recently, I started to download podcasts on my mobile phone to listen on the way home from work. I know that such things exisited since the days I was in Army, but the thing is that I am not someone who loves to listen to clips that are less than 5 minutes. This was until Joe Augustin - yes, the guy who was fired from 91.3 and then Power 98 - started his own podcast on a daily basis, available on the web for download at no charges. For those who are interested, the address to download is http://morningjam.com/

Now, I have to make it clear that I am no fan of Joe Augustin, and thinks that sometimes, he says things that really makes him belong to the 'Fools' section. However, you have to give credit to this guy's never-say-die spirit. His podcast are actually very good, very entertaining - given the fact that that is his FIRST, and also him being a greenhorn in this area - though he is a self-confessed techie geek.

Joel's Thoughts
Now, going into the main point of this post...
The question of the day: Would you allow your spouse to share the same room with your opposite sex partner (e.g. allow your wife to sleep in the same room as your brother)?

Have this picture ever crossed your mind? You and your wife sleeping in the same room with your brother? I mean yes, no doubt that you trust your siblings, but we cannot also discount the fact that every single individuals have needs of their own. What happens if - for example - you are bathing and your brother is playing away with your girlfriend? Or if at night your sibling decides to have 'some fun' with your partner and you are unaware about it? Or worst, your partner decides to be funny and sexually harrass your siblings?

I wish to clarify that this thought does not mean that I do not trust my brothers and/or my girlfriend. They are the most fantastic people in the world whom I believe have the highest degree of integrity. Just relating to what I heard from my friend and decided to make it as a post.

Words of Wisdom
Never say someone have a bad character - when your character is nowhere near good in the first place.
--> Many a times, people complain about this and complain about that. Many people loves to compliment themselves, even going to the extent to clarify like ".... for those who know me long enough, you will know that I am not usually like that".

I say, these are all excuses. With all due respect, I respect (no puns intended) people who are willing to acknowledge that they have fault and that they are willing to change. I know of many who keep saying that they want to change - but at the end of 128753257027 hours, they still manage to remain status quo.

In Joel's terminology, this is call "self delusion". These are people who lives in their own utopic world, not seen the harsh reality of life - but thought that they went through every single darn aspect of life. When probed further, this bunch of people would say, what I opined as childish arguement, that I did not mention your name.

An example:
A: I think that you are someone with bad character!
B: But I do not think so and I am still changing for the better.
A: I hate people who not 100% confirm then say things like it is confirm!
B: But it was confirm til situation and circumstances changes everything what.
A: I did not say it was YOU in the first place.

Look at this conversation and it is self-explanatory. Moreover, from this conversation, you could tell how self-centred A is. This is the kind of people who I despised and thinks that they are of the lowest status in the society today.

My parting sentence?
Words spoken by people with status, qualifications and work experience usually carries more weight than those spoken by people who thinks they have status, not very high qualifications and zero work experience (I only consider people who stays in a job for more than 12 months or in the workforce continously for 12 months to have work experience).

P.S. No special inference to anybody or anyone. This post is written in the spirit of 'Say what you want to say, blog what you want to blog'. If you feel offended by this post, probably you fit the criteria which is why you are fuming mad now and cursing and swearing at me. Go ahead! At least I am your channel to vent your fraustration - which gives me another reason to believe that I have more uses as a human being. I will not feel offended - I have no time for children!
